Lincoln 41 was founded by Steve Bennett. He served 10 years as a municipal police officer and sergeant with an Illinois police department before becoming a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Steve investigated violent and white-collar crimes, public corruption, child sex crimes, fugitive apprehension, and counterintelligence matters. He managed several federal trials resulting in convictions and dismantling of criminal organizations. He was tendered an expert witness in the Central District of Illinois regarding criminal street gang matters. 

 

After serving 10 years as an FBI Agent in Illinois, Steve was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent at FBI Headquarters and later to Unit Chief. He led a 24/7 operational team at the Terrorist Screening Center and later oversaw the Violence Reduction Unit, where he was responsible for the FBI's Active Shooter Response Training Program and the annual Active Shooter Report for Attacks in the United States. He coordinated with faith-based organizations and local law enforcement agencies throughout the country regarding violence reduction and active shooter prevention.

 

Steve was the recipient of the Executive Office of the United States Attorneys Director's Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement and the FBI Director's High Impact Leadership Award.
